Palmetto Health invites teens and parents to the 2016 Teen Health Summit Friday, June 10, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., at Dreher High School, 3319 Millwood Ave. This year’s theme is “Uprising: Disrupting Common Culture.” The free event will address pressing health issues that teens battle during the school year and throughout the summer. Students in 6-12th grade are invited. Registration and parent/guardian permission are required.
The free event will focus on healthy relationships, bullying and college life. Parents can also learn about these topics in a separate session. A free lunch will be provided from Chick-Fil-A, and the day will conclude with an ice cream social, courtesy of Baskin Robbins.
Free transportation will be provided for teens living in the Lower Richland community. Pickup times will be 7 a.m. at Webber Elementary School and 7:30 a.m. at Lower Richland High School.
