Christopher Louis Macklin
Christopher Macklin is the DBE/Diversity Compliance Officer at the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) where he is responsible for ensuring that firms owned and operated by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals are not discriminated against in competing for federally funded contracts. Additionally, Macklin ensures that facilities, bus stops, sidewalks, and more are in compliance with the ADA (American Disability Act of 1990) rules and regulations. He has been employed with the JTA for three years. Previously, Macklin held the position of JTA Connexion Eligibility Center Supervisor for the past three years.
Prior to joining the JTA Team, he worked as an Administrator at The Mentor Network. While working at the Mentor Network, Macklin developed innovative treatment programs that enabled patients to perform daily living tasks and activities. To achieve the level of success attained he relied heavily upon his extensive knowledge of the disabled community and his creativity to successfully advance the overall program.
Macklin received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Management from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Next spring 2017, Macklin will be working towards his Master’s Degree in Public Administration at the University of North Florida. Deeply rooted in his community, Macklin is an active member in his church(Southside Church of God in Christ), serving as a part of the outreach ministry. He is also a member of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), and Big Brothers and Sisters of Northeast Florida. He is proud parent of two children; a daughter, London Macklin and a son, Christopher Macklin II.
